Make your complaint count!
Thursday, 10 February 2011 08:47

Do you have a problem with your university or TAFE, local council or a government agency?   Aren't sure how to resolve the issue or where to go for help?

The Queensland Ombudsman investigates complaints about public agencies. We make sure all Queenslanders get a fair go.

We are an independent watchdog and can investigate complaints about universities and TAFE institutes, including the appeals process, student enrolments, access to courses and university rules. We can also help resolve complaints about state agencies and local councils, from driving licences and car registration to unreasonable rates and charges and services such as garbage collection and road maintenance.

If you have already tried to resolve the problem without success, contact us. You are entitled to a fair go in your dealings with government agencies.

  • Make your complaint count. Write to the agency, outline your complaint and the outcome you are seeking.
  • Call in backup. If you don't receive a response or still aren't happy with the decision, contact the Queensland Ombudsman at www.ombudsman.qld.com.au
  • Get in early. We usually don't consider complaints more than 12 months old.
