Introduction

The Youth Consultative Network (YCN) is for youth workers (and in time, young people) who want to get involved in building a society that treats young people with respect and protects their social, political, civil and economic rights.

In practical terms, the YCN is a simple set of tools that youth workers can use to bring the communities attention to issues that effect young people and youth services.  By getting involved in the YCN, youth workers can help YANQ to learn about these issues and bring people together to respond to them.

INTERAGENCIES: Click here to make your quarterly submissions.

The YCN has a history stretching back to YANQ's early days in the late 1980's and early 1990's.  Today it includes:

  • Processes for Youth Interagencies and Networks to connect with YANQ
  • Strategies to support the participation of young people in collectively identifying and responding to challenges in their lives
  • Processes for those in the youth sector to easily raise issues and work with us to respond to them.

Talking about the issues we face is great.  But take them to the next level - tell your Peak Body!  That's what the YCN is for.

Please read on for more information.
