Towards the end of 2006, The Create Foundation conducted a number of
focus groups with young people, as a means to hear how young people wish to be
consulted or give feedback; the who, what, when, where, why, how of consulting.
The young people were very honest and had a lot to say on this topic. The main themes that arose were that
the young people:
- Want their voices heard, in a trusting environment
- Want action as a result of the
feedback they’re giving; and if not, they want this communicated
back to them
- Want a variety of methods for giving
feedback
- Want to know as much information
about the process
The report (Click here to download it - 272.00 Kb) details the results of the consultation,
with recommendations and internet resources to hopefully help you in consulting
with young people.
