Snapshot 2009: Children and young people in Queensland was released by the Commission for Children and Young People and Child Guardian on Monday 12 October 2009. This statistical report, the seventh in the series, draws together data from a range of sources to provide a contemporary representation of the safety and wellbeing of children and young people across the state.

Specific chapters relate to: key statistics; population; family; health; deaths; child protection; early childhood education and care; education; and crime and justice. In addition, Snapshot 2009 features three new chapters: age cohorts; lifestyle; and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander wellbeing.
