Australian
agencies have developed a number of ways to help refugee and newly
arrived young people of post-compulsory school age whose levels of
education and types of experience do not match what Australian
education and training frameworks associate with specific ages.
Pathways and transitions: Post-compulsory education, work and refugee young people,
a new report created by the Victorian Settlement Planning Committee
(VSPC) and published by CMY (Centre for Multicultural Youth), provides
case studies of initiatives and "good practice principles". It also
features recommendations arising from the VSPC's discussions, plus a
selected reading list.
