From Disengaged to Re-engaged: Young People's Right to Education & Training

engaged gears Over the next 12 months (starting in December 2007) YANQ will be undertaking this Re-engagement project to challenge governments and communities to lift their game when it comes to supporting disengaged young people back into education and training.

The project will:

  • Map re-engagement services available to young Queenslanders.
  • Develop, articulate and publish models of successful re-engagement services.
  • Encourage a deeper understanding within the youth sector, governments and the community about disengagement and the types of re-engagement services that can work in different communities.

Throughout the 12 month project YANQ will be spending time focusing on these sub-topics:

Support for...

  • Young Women
  • Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Young People
  • Young Australian South Sea & Pacific Islanders
  • Newly Arrived Young Migrants/Refugees
  • Young people from socio-economically disadvantaged areas

Services Specifically suited for...

  • Cities and urban areas
  • Regional Towns
  • Remote areas
  • Isolated areas
