The interviews were conducted as part of a research project that is investigating the factors of success and challenges facing flexible learning services in South East Queensland.
The research project had three aims:
To identify the key factors that drive success for students in flexible learning services.
To uncover the elements that strengthen, and undermine, sustainability of these services.
To highlight key elements of success in these services that can
be transferred to 'mainstream' school settings, and in so doing improve
the overall schooling experience for young people from all backgrounds
in Queensland.
A collaborative team of individuals, facilited by YANQ, from both the education and youth sectors have lead this research project. The members of the research team are:
Ms Linda Llewellyn (Brisbane Catholic Education Centre)
Dr. Glenda McGregor (Griffith University);
Prof. Martin Mills (the University of Queensland);
Ms Frances Missen (Albert Park Flexible Learning Centre);
Mr David Powell (Youth Affairs Network of Queensland);
Ms Maren Strachan (YWCA);
