Are you aged between 12 and
26 years with a great idea for an art project? Do you and your friends want to
hire a venue for your next gig? Or to you want to print flyers to promote your
upcoming exhibition but don’t know how to pay for it?
Grants of up to $1,000 are
currently available to young Queenslanders that are producing art in their local
community. Young artists and arts collectives now have until 27 July to
apply to Youth Arts Queensland for a strut your stuff grant, a quick-response
funding initiative, which can be used to pay for arts activities that are
happening within the next three months.
Artists from a variety of
arts backgrounds are invited to apply: dancers, musicians, visual or new media
artists, actors, performers, community artists, curators or arts workers. Even
cross-art form projects and events are eligible such as festivals or events that
allow young artists to produce their own art.
The funding can be used to
cover costs for art supplies, printing and promotion, venue or equipment hire.
The grant does not cover the purchase of equipment or artist wages, however.
