Recognising
that great Youth Workers play a key role in achieving great client
outcomes, Red Cross and University of Queensland have partnered to
undertake an innovative research project. This study focuses on Youth
Workers' experiences of and attitudes to their professional role
including the factors which influence their decisions to stay with an
employer or move to another employer or career.
If you are interested in participating in this research please read on for more details.
Initial
research into this topic has suggested that staff retention is
affected by: work stress, burnout and turnover. This project is
looking to identify in further detail how these issues and any other
factors influence staff who work in accommodation services.
If
you have worked in an intensely supported youth accommodation service
(i.e. not an externally supported service) and are willing to speak
about your experiences, please email
This email address is being protected from spam bots, you need Javascript enabled to view it
with your relevant contact details. The Research Team will then
contact you to arrange an interview. It is anticipated that all
interviews will
be completed by September.
Participation in this study will ultimately inform Red Cross
accommodation service design.
Ethical
research standards apply to the study which means your
confidentiality
is strictly maintained and all information is de-identified after
interview.
